There is something endlessly appealing about a window-pane mirror. It carries the memory of divided-light windows found in heritage homes and European farmhouses, yet it slips just as naturally into a clean, contemporary space. The Salkala Arch Window Pane Mirror takes that classic form and refines it — pairing a gracefully arched top with a structured iron grid frame in a deep, non-reflective matte black finish that holds its own against any wall colour. At 32 inches tall and 20 inches wide, this mirror occupies exactly the right amount of visual real estate. It is substantial enough to make a considered statement above a console table or entryway bench, yet compact enough not to overwhelm a bedroom wall or narrow hallway. The arch at the crown softens what would otherwise be a purely rectilinear composition, adding just enough organic movement to keep the piece feeling warm rather than industrial. The glass itself is 3mm tempered — a safety standard that makes this mirror meaningfully different from the mass-produced options you will find at big-box retailers. Tempered glass is manufactured through a controlled thermal process that increases its strength to approximately five times that of standard float glass. Should an impact ever occur, it is engineered to break into small, blunt-edged fragments rather than sharp, dangerous shards. Beyond that, an explosion-proof and shatter-resistant safety film is bonded to the rear surface of each pane, holding every fragment in place even under significant force. This is the level of engineering we believe every home deserves — especially in households with children or pets. The frame is fabricated from solid iron — not hollow tube, not MDF wrapped in foil. Iron gives the piece genuine weight and permanence. The matte black powder-coat finish is applied evenly across every weld and corner, resisting chips, humidity, and the everyday wear that lesser finishes simply cannot handle over time. Installation has been made deliberately straightforward. Two heavy-duty wall anchors and two matching mounting screws are included, compatible with most standard drywall and masonry surfaces. The mirror can be mounted portrait-style on any wall, or simply leaned against a surface for a relaxed, styled look that requires no tools at all. Both approaches work beautifully — the choice is entirely yours. For Ontario and GTA customers, this mirror ships free on orders over CA$299 and arrives carefully packaged to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition. Whether you are furnishing a new build in Mississauga, refreshing a condo in downtown Toronto, or styling a cottage in Muskoka, this is a piece designed to last.
Absolutely stunning. Worth every penny.
We put this in our bathroom and the finish has held up perfectly — no rust, no spots, even with daily showers. Exactly what we needed.
Happy with it overall. Sturdy frame, clear glass. Would buy from this shop again.
Good quality for the price. The frame color is a touch darker than the photos but honestly it works even better in my space.
10/10. The window pane design makes my small living room feel twice as big.
This mirror completely transformed my entryway. The frame feels really solid and it was on the wall in about 15 minutes with the included hardware.
Beautiful mirror! It arrived really well packaged — foam on every corner and double boxed, so no worries about damage. Looks so much more expensive than it is.
Solid mirror, looks great in our hallway. Instructions could be a little clearer but we figured it out quickly.
1. Unbox carefully and lay the mirror face-down on a soft, clean surface. Locate the included anchors and screws. 2. Decide on your hanging position. Use a pencil and level to mark the wall at your desired height — the mirror's mounting point is located on the upper rear of the frame. 3. If mounting into drywall, use the included wall anchors. Drill a pilot hole at each marked point using the appropriate bit (typically 6–8mm for standard drywall anchors), then tap or thread the anchors flush with the wall surface. 4. Drive the mounting screws into the anchors, leaving approximately 5–6mm protruding from the wall to hook the frame hardware securely. 5. Carefully lift the mirror and engage the rear mounting hardware onto the protruding screws. Confirm the mirror sits level — adjust if needed before releasing. 6. For a leaned installation, simply position the mirror upright against the wall on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the floor surface is non-slip and the wall behind provides adequate support.
Frame Care Wipe the iron frame with a soft, dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or solvent-based sprays, which can damage the powder-coat finish. In high-humidity rooms such as bathrooms, ensure adequate ventilation to preserve the finish long-term. Glass Care Spray a small amount of standard glass cleaner onto a clean, lint-free microfibre cloth — never directly onto the mirror surface. Wipe in gentle circular motions, then buff dry immediately to prevent streaking. Avoid ammonia-heavy cleaners near the frame edges, as prolonged exposure can affect the mirror backing over time. Long-Term Care Periodically check that wall anchors and screws remain secure, especially in older plaster walls. Keep the mirror away from direct, sustained moisture sources such as shower spray. With basic care, the iron frame and tempered glass are built to remain in excellent condition for many years.
At 4.2 kg (9.3 lbs), this mirror is suitable for standard drywall using the included anchors. For plaster or masonry walls, use appropriate masonry anchors (not included — available at any Canadian hardware store). If leaning, ensure the floor surface is flat and non-slip. When in doubt, consult a professional installer.
Yes. The 3mm tempered glass is up to 5× stronger than standard glass, and the explosion-proof safety film on the rear holds fragments in place if breakage ever occurs — significantly reducing the risk of injury.
Absolutely. The mirror is designed for both uses. Simply lean it portrait-style against any wall on a stable, flat surface. No tools or hardware required for a leaned installation.
The included anchors are ideal for standard drywall. For brick, concrete, or older plaster walls, we recommend picking up appropriate masonry anchors at your local hardware store before installation.
